Douchebags and Flashbacks

I try to avoid confrontation but last night someone decided to belittle me and attack me for no reason over my opinion on this stupid timeline. I don't like it. I'm a bit dyslexic and he gave me the condescending reason why it was so simple--as if it made me simple that I don't like it. He then stated that I would get used to it and then complain when they changed it. I don't even know who this guy is or how I got to be friends with him in the first place but I told him to piss off. I was bothered but going to let it go. However I ended up being reminded of why I hate confrontation. I couldn't sleep the rest of the night and then slept most of the day having nightmares about when I was physically attacked and abused. So fuck you, douchebag. Thanks for making me have to relive in my mind what I don't want to remember.

It seems to me that people are a lot ruder about little things these days. Maybe that's my perception. But how was it any skin off this idiot's stupid nose that some cranky old broad that he doesn't really even know dislikes the Facebook timeline? Jackass was just looking to stir the shit. And now thanks to flashbacks I am more upset than I should be over nothing.

Huckabee is Off Base

Mike Huckabee has decried Natalie Portman for glamorizing having a child out of wedlock. But Ms. Portman is an adult, and it doesn't appear that she is glamorizing the fact that she is pregnant out of wedlock. The thing that is horrifying to me are shows glamorizing teen motherhood. It is not that I feel that teenage girls who become pregnant should be branded "sluts," but nor should becoming pregnant in one's teen years be seen as a goal to pursue. Not only that, but the girls chosen to be on these programs do not seem like the kind who are going to try and put their child first. They seem like self-absorbed Paris Hilton/Kim Kardashian wannabes. 

Natalie Portman is not a bad role model. I doubt that anyone even thinks about the fact that she and her boyfriend are having a baby out of wedlock--other than the likes of Mike Huckabee. The people who should be receiving a verbal lashing are the jerks who created the "Teen Mom" shows. They don't care what kind of a message they're sending to impressionable teenage girls who may well think they can get their 15 minutes of fame by getting pregnant and getting on such a show themselves.
